Google India has recently announced its IPL Zeitgeist 2010, which reveals the most searched players and teams on the search engine, during the third season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
As per the IPL Zeitgeist 2010, Sachin Tendulkar, followed by Saurav Ganguly, are the most searched Indian cricketers on Google during IPL 3. During the second season of IPL, 'Fake IPL player' was the most searched player/entity on Google; while the second most searched player was Tendulkar.
Surprisingly, MS Dhoni and Virender Sehwag -- who were the third and seventh most searched players, respectively, during IPL 2 -- are not among the 10 most searched players this year. Another player who has not made it to the 10 most searched players' list this season is VVS Laxman, who was at tenth position last season.
Interestingly, three international cricketers have made their debut in the 10 most searched players on Google search this season. Last season, only one international player -- Shane Warne -- had made it to this list.
Apart from Warne -- who has jumped from eighth most searched player during IPL 2 to third most searched player in Season 3 -- Brett Lee (No. 6), Adam Gilchrist (No. 7) and Ryan Harris (No. 8) have made it to the top 10 list.
Among the IPL teams, Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians are the top two searched teams during Season 3.
Google India has declined to reveal the exact number or search volume for the players' and teams' search during this season.
